In general, now both algorithms seem quite similar. Looks like they compare your latest post with your past posts. The more interaction the new post gets, the more people they show it to.

Instagram viral videos are just random, they just want to make few videos from every account to go viral so they can gain some followers and keep posting videos.

TikTok algorithm was pretty accurate with viral videos.. remember Bella Poarch M to the B, Adrianskickback viral birthday invitation at Southern California beach etc.. Now you don’t see such huge viral videos.. may be they put a limit on the max views and take it off after that

Algorithm checks how your current video compares with past videos (number of likes, shares and comments). So, if you keep posting all great videos and all get great interactions but same level then not sure they can go viral. If your average interactions per post is 10, and then one post gets 30, then it is shown to more people who are not your followers.
In general, if you use trending songs with great video your video is likely to get more interaction.

Also, if you have one video going viral, during that time you are more likely to have your other videos going viral because more people visiting your account and watching your latest videos giving them extra interactions compared to your past average interactions. Also algorithm will more likely to show your new videos to more people as they interacted with your previous viral video

    How about these below
    1) Adopt a pet and post pet videos (TikTok)
    2) Post videos about how nasty your work or employer is (TikTok)
    3) Move to a remote location and compare it to New York or California and show how big the stores are, how fast the check out is with virtually no lines..(TikTok)
    4) Post overly saturated sunsets or dark night nature videos with slowed, reverb songs (TikTok)
    5) Skin show (TikTok)
    6) Show your dance moves / skills (TikTok)
    7) Repost viral TikTok videos (Instagram)
Other the above point #7 not sure what makes Instagram videos go viral 😂

TikTok has many newsworthy viral videos.. how come Instagram doesn’ t have any newsworthy viral videos?
Clearly something is broke with Instagram algorithm

Instagram just wants to make money..they not only start Instagram shop and take commission on all sales, instead of featuring ads from named brands they feature ads from some scam artists or never heard names on their reels videos..
In addition, instead of making the content go viral, they want to milk more money from every day users in the name of boosting their posts..

If you are reposting a viral video, try to flip the video or add text to the video etc..
This will have better odds of going viral again

On Instagram many travel pages post same videos..same video goes viral randomly after someone posted it like 100th time..
I think it depends on the account posting it and when it posted the video is still actively viral or not . Post when viral video is inactive without much activity
