Scenic Park
Yoho National Park, although is in British Columbia, it is not very far from Lake Louise. Popular attractions include Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Waterfalls, Wapta Falls, Natural Bridge and Spiral Tunnels. Lake O’Hara is beautiful as well but the shuttle bus lottery is difficult to get.
Beautiful Photo-Spot
Beautiful photo spot along the Bow River where the Canadian Pacific railway passes along a curve with beautiful mountains in the backdrop. It is not very far from the town of Lake Louise. Unfortunately, there is no schedule for the trains. Ideally, you need the red freight train heading towards you along the curve.
Incredible Ice Bubbles
Best time for ice bubbles is between end of December to February. Lake needs to be frozen with out snow accumulating on top of the lake for best views. Popular viewpoints include windy point and preachers point (closer to Icefields Parkway).
Postcard Views
Classic photo-spot with Canadian Rockies framed by the Banff Downtown. Best places for capturing include Banff Avenue near Caribou St. intersection.
Panoramic Views
Popular attraction in Banff with a Gondola Ride, lookout with panoramic views, mountain top restaurant and Banff Upper Hot Springs.
Slot Canyon
Beautiful trails with waterfall, streams and canyon views. You can do a short loop or continue all the way to 5th bridge (you can go even further to 6th bridge). Popular in winter as well with ice walk tours.
Beautiful Lake backdropped by glaciers
Maligne Lake is a beautiful and photo popular lake. To get to the Spirit Island photo-spot, you need go for the lake cruise, which is expensive but it it the best spot.
Incredible Experience
There are two options paid and free. You can take a Glacier Adventure tour where they take you on a bus and drive you on a glacier. You can get down and walk on a glacier. It also includes glass bottom skywalk experience. If you don’t want to pay for it, just park in the lower lot. Then a short, steep well marked hike leads you to the toe of the glacier.
Incredible Drive
232 Kms of amazing views, one of the best scenic drives. Rocky Mountains, lakes, waterfalls, glaciers, icefields, forests and incredible wild life, just amazing. Must do.
Popular Stop
Popular stop in Banff National Park with lots of hiking trails, lower and upper waterfalls, creeks and pools set in lush forest. It is also home to the secret cave which is popular on social media. The unmarked, short dirt trail to it starts just before reaching the upper falls. Presently, the secret cave trail is closed.
