Moderate to difficult 4.1 mile loop hike to the peak of the Bláhnúkur (Blue Mountain) features panoramic views of the colorful volcanic mountains and lava fields.

Rated among best trails, the Laugavegur Trail is a 34 mile (55 km) one-way trail between Landmannalaugar and Thorsmork (Þórsmörk). On average it takes 3-4 days and leads through striking landscapes spanning gorges, glaciers and multicolored rhyolite mountains. Simple huts dot the route at stops like Hrafntinnusker and Emstrur. 

Mt. Brennisteinsalda (also called Sulphur Wave) is colorful volcanic mountain featuring a steep 4 mile hike with panoramic views and could also be combined with the Bláhnúkur hike.
