Glacier Point is a viewpoint with panoramic views over Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls etc. Located just before the Glacier Point, Washburn Point offers similar views as that of the Glacier Point. While Glacier Point offers slightly more frontal views of Half Dome, Washburn Point offers better views of Nevada and Vernal Falls.
Best Views without Hike
One of the spectacular views in the park with out requiring any hikes. Parking lot is big and finding a parking space shouldn’t be an issue. Sunset is popular time and is spectacular. You get the views of Half Dome, Nevada and Vernal Falls, panoramic views of the layer upon layers of granite peaks etc..
Top Spot
One of the top spots in Yosemite NP. Just a short walk from the parking area. Driving road access is closed in winter though.
Popular Viewpoint
Glacier Point is one of the popular viewpoints in Yosemite. The up-close views of Half Dome and panoramic valley views are just amazing. Sunset is a popular time as sun will be hitting the Half Dome directly and making it lit. You will be looking directly into sun at sunrise. However, when there are clouds near horizon, they could add colorful backdrop to the Half Dome.
