Monument Valley is a red sand desert region in the Arizona-Utah border popular for towering sandstone buttes and is a frequent filming location for western movies. Some areas of the park are open and can be visited by the 17-mile scenic loop drive, while other areas of the park are restricted and can only be visited through a tour.

Incredible and fun place to visit. Unfortunately only couple of proper accommodations with in Monument Valley. Especially the view hotel is always booked several months in advance during summer months.
Amazing place with incredible formations. Even more beautiful at sunrise and sunset where these formations are saturated with color. If possible do the scenic drive yourself and take the tour for restricted areas. Hunts Mesa has one of the best panoramic views but unfortunately Hunts Mesa tour is little expensive.
