Amazing Views
There are two ways to get there. The one with shorter hike is on the opposite side and the views are not that great and you cannot get down to the canyon.
The longer one is about 5Km walk each way (sometimes steep). You need to park at a private farm and hike from there. The river is not always green and could be muddy.
Amazing Canyon
Difficult to pronounce but it is an amazing canyon with turning and twisting walls with moss covered bumps and a winding river flowing through it. It also gained even more popularity after it was featured in the Justin Bieber’s song I’ll show you. It is located close to the Ring Road. Even though the road to it from Ring Road is short , it is a gravel raod and slippery in winter.
Nice
Hallgrimskirkja is one of the easily recognizable landmarks of Iceland. Go up to see the panoramic views of Reykjavik.
Long Walk, Good Photo-spot
The place is about 3.5Kms from the parking. It’s a long 40 minute walk each way. Don’t go in the bad weather.
Incredible Pace
Beautiful turf house with a waterfall in the backdrop. It was featured in the Game of Thrones as well. It was part of the Thjorsadalur Valley Game of Thrones tour.
