Guidelines for listing reviews
Your reviews and contributions to BestViews are valuable and encourage you to share your personal experiences with the BestViews community. To help us keep BestViews a safe and trustworthy source for information and advice, we ask that you abide by BestViews Content Guidelines and the following rules for writing reviews:
Personal Experience: Our community wants to hear about your personal experience. Try to tell your own story and not some second-hand information or quotations from other sources. Please provide reviews based on experiences you’ve had and be sure to include enough detail in your review that other travelers will find your advice helpful.
Accurate and Unbiased: The best reviews are passionate and personal and offer a great amount of detail, and helpful tips for other community members. Make sure your reviews provide unbiased advice and are factually correct. Feel free to share your opinions, but don’t exaggerate or misrepresent your experience. We don’t take sides when it comes to factual disputes, so we expect you to stand behind your review. We don’t allow individuals or entities who own or are affiliated with a property to post reviews of their business or competing listings. Reviews submitted in an exchange for money from a business or individual will not be published. If you suspect a review is fake or doesn’t meet our posting guidelines, you can use the “Report ” located at the top of each review to report the review to us. We also do not allow reviews that contain links or content solely included for promotional purposes.
Correct and Relevant: Submissions must relate directly to the property or place to which it is submitted, so please make sure you are submitting your content to the correct listing. Keep your reviews relevant and helpful to community members and they are reading your review to understand what an experience with the listed place might be like. For this reason, please don’t include any unrelated content or personal opinions about politics, ethics, religion or wider social issues.
Review Updates: Once a review is submitted, it cannot be edited or changed. Please make sure the content of the review is correct before submitting the review. If you had new experience or interaction with the listed place or business, you could submit an updated review but please don’t share the same experience again. Similar or duplicate reviews will not be approved or will be deleted. If you’d like to add new insight to an old experience by updating an already submitted review, you could submit your updated review and use the “Report ” located at the top of your previous review to us for deletion.
When is the Review Posted: Once review is submitted and meets our content and review guidelines, it is approved and usually posted within 24-48 hours after submission. Once a review is posted, in most cases it will stay on our site indefinitely. A review may occasionally be removed at the reviewer’s request, or, in rare occasions, may be found in violation of our guidelines.
Responding to Other Users’ Reviews: Users can appreciate the usefulness and show their liking of other users’ reviews by clicking the heart icon present below the content of each review. In addition, users can also show their appreciation of the photos and videos posted in reviews by clicking the heart icon present below the comments section in the photo/video. Furthermore, users could post their appreciation in the comments section of the photos/videos. Please note that any content posted in the comments section of the photos/videos must abide by BestViews Content Guidelines and please keep in mind that photo/video comment section is not a place to criticize the review author if you disagree with the review.
Only the claimed business representatives of the listing are allowed to directly respond to user reviews. If you are a business owner, please see How to Claim Your business and Responding to Reviews articles .
Reviews is the means to share your personal experiences about the listed place or business. If you have a question regarding the listed place or business, please don’t post them in the reviews or photo/video comments. Most listings have a question and answer forum dedicated to that listing, and we encourage community members and listing owners to actively use the dedicated forum for any questions related to that listing.
